Another major means of dissemination and achieving impact internationally, is to publish outcomes in peer-reviewed international journals. Peer-reviewed publications strengthen the quality and impact of surveillance systems and enable the surveillance management team to build a track record of specialist knowledge and expertise.
This will help to sustain the surveillance system in the long term and will increase the likelihood of obtaining further funding from funding programs and sources that apply rigorous review criteria.
Examples of relevant papers published in peer review journals can be drawn from the reference list of this module (2, 3, 4, 5).
